for a re-imagined Martineau Place
Martineau Place is located in the heart of Birmingham, and has long been identified as an opportunity to deliver comprehensive regeneration – as part of the next phase of growth in the city.
It is a critical piece of the wider Central Heart vision, forming a vital connection between the new Curzon Street station, Cathedral Square, and the Colmore Business District.
It’s delivery will unlock significant regeneration potential, reconnecting people, places, and communities.
The existing Martineau Place site, originally developed in the 1960s, includes retail space and a hotel. It no longer reflects how people live, work, and experience cities today.
There is a real opportunity to re-imagine it with new shops, cafes, restaurants, public spaces, offices and homes.

An experienced team
The vision for Martineau Place is being brought forward by a joint venture partnership between Sixth Street and Henley Investment Management.
The partnership brings together significant experience of delivering complex regeneration in the UK, and is backed by the financial strength of Sixth Street – a leading global investment firm with over $130 billion in assets under management and a deep track record investing in global real estate.
The partnership is also working with an experienced advisory and design team, with decades of experience delivering some of Birmingham’s most exciting regeneration opportunities.
